The Stobi Vranec Syrah Petit Verdot has Arrived

The Stobi vineyard are constantly looking for new ways to showcase the best of Macedonian grapes and winemaking. As such, they are very proud to announce the arrival of their delicious new red wine: the Stobi Vranec Syrah Petit Verdot.




We are delighted to see specialist Food and Wine website recognise Macedonia and as one of its top 5 international wine destinations!About the region the site says “Forget Burgundy and Napa. The tiny Balkan Republic of just two million people that has been making world class wine since the days of Julius Caesar, but has received recognition from connoisseurs for only a couple”.Macedonia is famous for its culture and historical heritage and is linked to Alexander the Great and the birth place of Mother Teresa.  Since the very early Romans times when its emperors favoured its grapes Mace

Grape Expectations: Vranec

The ancient Vranec grape variety is indigenous to the Balkans and provides a deliciously authentic taste of the region. Known as Vranac in the rest of the Balkans but Vranec in Macedonia, it is pronounced ‘V-ran-etz’ and is used to produce some spectacular wines.

Republic of Macedonia registration accepted by OIV

Signature Wines, the exclusive UK importers for the Stobi Winery, has announced today that the OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine) has registered the Republic of Macedonia along with a broad range of grape varieties.




Signature Wines was delighted to be featured twice on The Wine Hub’s blog this week, where Luiz Alberto selected Stobi as one of his three favourite wineries in the Republic of Macedonia.

The Stovi Syrah Barrique is a rich, dark ruby colour with aromas of blackberry and raspberry with a hint of spice. The Stobi Petit Verdot has an intense purple colour with aromas of spicy black cherry and a hint of vanilla. A wine that is dry, full bodied, with silky elegant tannins and a long finish. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
